Triple J is in the midst of its biggest programming shake-up in years, with five presenters announcing their departure from the youth broadcaster in just one month.
Mornings presenter Linda Marigliano and lunchtime host Gen Fricker are the latest Triple J staff to hang-up the headphones. The announcement comes one day after Hack presenter Tom Tilley announced he was stepping down from Triple J’s flagship current affairs program. He has hosted the program for eight years and worked at the broadcaster for more than a decade.
Last month, breakfast duo Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton announced they were leaving Triple J in order to take-up a new gig on commercial radio station Nova in their hometown of Adelaide. The pair fronted the breakfast show for three years and in that time lifted the program’s market share.
Triple J’s content director, Ollie Wards, admitted there were some “big shoes to fill” in 2020. But he is confident the broadcaster’s young audience will be happy with the new lineup to be announced on Wednesday.
